I play the clarinet. I'm trying to .learn to play the violin (and the banjo). My favorite composers to play are Hindemth, Poulenc, Shostakovich, Stravinski, Mozart, and Bach. As far as the classical music I usually listen to, it's a lot of fairly contemporary stuff. I like John Cage, John Adams, the Arditti Quartet, Maya Beiser, the Kronos Quartet, Mika Yoshida, yMusic,Bang on a Can All-Stars, Alarm Will Sound, Caleb Burnham, Tarab Cello Ensemble, Steve Reich, Roomful of Teeth, and others. I also love opera.

I just really love music.

I really like It's Gonna Rain and Reed Phase. I just gained a renewed appreciation for Music for 18 Musicians this morning watching this video - https://youtu.be/-wmtsTuHkt0 - which was made by means of machine learning. I also really like Electric Counterpoint 1.

I'm a huge fan of repetition and incremental, gradual change within that repetition. His music is amazing - it's hypnotic and thought-provoking.

Music for 18 Musicians is one of my (many) favourites; thanks for the interesting link. I find the pure repetition works intellectually appealing, but viscerally I tend to prefer his later works, even the largely non-repetitive cantillation-inspired ones such as Tehillim. I find his range of genres inspiring -- so many contemporary composers essentially write the same piece over and over again.
