May. 6th, 2017 08:44 pmHi! I'm a musician -- cellist and singer -- who loves classical music. Love Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Strauss waltzes, chamber music. Not fond at all of Mendelssohn, because of how he treats cellists -- as if they're there only to do sound effects with sixteenth notes, causing repetitive motion injuries. But I'm open to other classical as well. Stravinski! Benjamin Britten! (bring it on!)

In his 5th symphony, not only do the violas mostly play sound effects with fast repeated figures for the entire first three movements, we basically never leave the C string throughout the first movement, which makes the repetitive motion injuries even worse.
